Karl Lagerfeld for Shu Uemura

Shu and Karl
Karl Lagerfeld's new collection of make-up has been unveilved for Shu Uemura, after the collaboration was announced back in June.

Karl Lagerfeld is literally one of my favourite older men that wears high white collars and dark sunglasses all year round - wait - there is only one Karl Lagerfeld.

His new range of make-up in association with Shu Uemura features a quirky little girl animation that has Lagerfeld's signature high white collar and black tie. The whole collection has been photographed and designed by Lagerfeld himself.

Craving Cobalt

DKNY Autumn/Winter 2012/13
Cobalt will become a welcome colour in your wardrobe this autumn from designer to high street everyone will be trying for a colour statement and once again colour blocking is staying with us for another season, however this time for autumn/winter, it seems we will be ditching the earthy palette and holding onto summer for a little longer.

I can not write about the upcoming appearance of Cobalt without referencing one of my all time favourite films and book , The Devil wears Prada - My favourite monologue from Meryl Streep in the entire film:

Mulberry Autumn/Winter 2012/13

"You go to your closet and you select that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise, it's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002,Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent wasn't it, who showed cerulean military jackets? And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers." etc.....

This injection of colour into my autumnal wardrobe will be gratefully accepted as it will give the blend of forest, cherry, burgundy and navy a rest and to be honest I am a bit bored of seeing the same array of colours in every shop, that if mixed together would create a nasty brown.

Stella McCartney Autumn Winter 2012/13

There is a shade of colbalt for everyone its just a matter of finding the one that suits you. The best way to accessorise colbalt is with navy and white for a sophisticated look and nude accessories. For an extra punch of colour wear with an orange lipstick.
